The Eyes Have It

It’s amazing what 10 minutes of Qi healing power from Grandmaster’ Chow’s touch can do especially if you are a new Chow Medical Qigong student with a 50 + year “incurable” eye condition originating from birth defects. In May, this student experienced an instant 20 % improvement to a lifetime of low vision.  With regular meditation and Chow Qigong exercises, this student’s vision has improved another 10% in the past 7 months. The sources of his defective vision are due to nystagmus, astigmatism and an apparent lack of cones and/or rods in the eyes (organic pixels) usually associated with albinism.  Dr. … Continue reading

Healthy Living Lunch – Waldorf Salad & Sushi

Do you put fruit in your salad? In that case you might have made a rudimentary Waldorf salad. A Waldorf salad is a salad traditionally made of fresh apples, celery and walnuts, dressed in mayonnaise, and usually served on a bed of lettuce as an appetizer or a light meal. It is a great spin to the usual salad that you can have for lunch.   Dr. Chow usually has a salad for lunch as she lives by the general healthy rule of Chow Qigong – that your diet should generally consist of 80% vegetables. If you are slightly intimidated by … Continue reading

The Daffodil Principle

From day to day, Dr. Chow enjoys sharing pieces of wisdom like dolling out small pieces of fruit which sweet taste lingers long after you eat it. Today she sent out an story that was both very inspiring and reflective of the work she is involved in. As part of Chow Qigong, Dr. Chow recommends eight hugs and three belly aching laughs a day. (Read her book Miracle Healing from China http://eastwestqi.com/?page_id=8)  A strong mental disposition is important in order to heal. We must move forward in life with courage and strength and not be so timid with the energy we … Continue reading

Lunch – Healthy Eating the Chow Qigong Way

This is what Dr. Chow’s typical lunch would be: A wholesome Chow-Kitchen-Sink salad and a small portion of white meat (such as turkey, chicken or fish.) In this case, today she had an arugula-romaine salad with cherry tomatoes and sliced strawberries (surprisingly good, sometimes she puts bananas!) and salmon.   How many of us are guilty of making poor food choices? When you become lazy or in a rush, especially at work, it becomes tempting to just order food-to-go, which would typically come in a greased-stained paper takeout box or with oil gathering in a stagnant pool on the bottom. Perhaps you skip … Continue reading

How Powerful is Your Qi (Chi)?

Chi is vital energy  that connects your mind to your body so you can will for example your finger to move. You can then actually move another person with that same energy, by letting it flow through their body. Think of it as momentum. Somebody comes straight at you, so you redirect their energy in another direction. It can be very subtle (Brushing aside the person’s fingers so that the body tends to follow, for example.) In this video, Dr. Chow uses that same vital energy: chi to send five capable and strong individuals nearly twice her size stumbling over. … Continue reading

Columbia, Missouri Event: Dr. Chow made Qigong easy and magical

Article from National Tai Chi Examiner by Violet Li Read full article and pictures here Qi is pronounced “chi” and means “life vital force” or “breath”. Gong means work. Qigong means the exercise people practice to cultivate Qi via proper breathing. Even though human beings breathe all the time, most people do not breathe accurately or know what Qi is. But Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners feel the buoyancy (or Qi) when practicing the art. Undoubtedly, Qi and Qigong seem foreign or even mysterious to millions of people.
